Community Offerings
Healing happens in community, and I’m proud to be involved with community offerings that are free and open to the public
I am honored to be a co-facilitator of Birmingham’s first E-Motion group.
E-Motion, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and was founded by a bereaved mom who loves to run and couldn’t find what she was looking for when her daughter, Havi, died. She created the Movement Community, a movement-based and peer-led grief experience. This eight-week, in-person experience brings together a local group of 15–20 individuals who have experienced the life-disrupting loss of a person. Each group is led by a trained E-Motion facilitator and blends movement—such as walking, hiking, or running—with shared ritual and reflection, creating space for grievers to connect and move with others who get it.
Each session includes guided ritual and reflection, followed by a group [walk or run (your pace, your choice of movement)]. At the end of the experience, the group will complete a [5k walk or run together], honoring their experience and their loved ones.
The group is open to anyone who has experienced a life-disrupting loss of a person [insert specific loss-type if relevant], and is free of cost to join.
