Community Offerings

Healing happens in community, and I’m proud to be involved with community offerings that are free and open to the public

I am honored to be a co-facilitator of Birmingham’s first E-Motion group.

  • E-Motion, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and was founded by a bereaved mom who loves to run and couldn’t find what she was looking for when her daughter, Havi, died. She created the Movement Community, a movement-based and peer-led grief experience. This eight-week, in-person experience brings together a local group of 15–20 individuals who have experienced the life-disrupting loss of a person. Each group is led by a trained E-Motion facilitator and blends movement—such as walking, hiking, or running—with shared ritual and reflection, creating space for grievers to connect and move with others who get it.

  • Each session includes guided ritual and reflection, followed by a group [walk or run (your pace, your choice of movement)]. At the end of the experience, the group will complete a [5k walk or run together], honoring their experience and their loved ones.

  • The group is open to anyone who has experienced a life-disrupting loss of a person [insert specific loss-type if relevant], and is free of cost to join.

  • For more information, or to register interest, please scan the code or email me or my co-facilitator Abigail.
